Pci.sys is not found or is corrupted

If your computer to start displaying a message that the C:\Winnt\System32\Drivers\Pci.sys file was not found or is corrupted,prepare the Pocket! Most of these problems are related to memory.

 Possibly iscaused by a problem in addressing one of the memories;try the following to resolve the problem:
  1. Start your computer in the Recovery Console.
    1. Insert the Windows XP startup disk in the CD/DVD drive. Restart the computer.
    2. Start the computer from the CD/DVD drive
      The "Welcome to Setup" appears.
    3. Press R to repair a Windows installation and
    4. Press C to start the Recovery Console.
    5. Type the number that corresponds to the Windows XP installation you want, and then press ENTER.
    6. Enter the administrator password and press ENTER.
  2. At the Recovery Console prompt, type map , and then press ENTER. Note the drive letter assigned to the CD/DVD drive
  3. Type the following command at the command prompt, and then press ENTER
    expand unidade: \i386\pci.sy_ c: \winnt\system32\drivers/y
    where unidade is the drive letter of your CD/DVD-ROM drive, where c is the drive on which Windows is installed and winnt is the folder where Windows is installed.
  4. Type exit and press ENTER to quit the Recovery Console.
  5. Restart Windows in normal mode and test.
If you followed the above step the problem is not resolved, replace the memory, because this error can also be caused by a problem in addressing one of the memories during startup of windows XP.

Turn on NUM LOCK when you start Windows

To enable NUM LOCK before a user log on, perform the following steps.Here's how to turn on the NUM LOCK key when you start Windows.
1. Restart or turn on your computer
2. on the login screen, make sure that the Num Lock led is lit. If not press the Num Lock key to turn on the led.
3. Restart the computer without logging on.

 If you have not solved try the following:

 1. Run Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
2. navigate to HKEY_USERS\.Default\Control Panel\Keyboard.
3. change the value for InitialKeyboardIndicators from 0 to 2.

NTLDR Is Missing

Problem:
Whenever you start your computer receives the error message:
"NTLDR Is Missing. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart "

Cause:
According to Microsoftthis problem can occur if the MFT root folder is andxtremamentefragmented. If the MFT root folder contains many files, the MFT may become so fragmented that an allocation index is created. As the files are mapped alphabetically in the allocation indexes, the NTLDR file may be sent to the second allocation index. When this occurs, you receive the error message mentioned above.

Typically, the files are not saved in the root folder. This condition can occur if a program create and regularly remove temporary files in the root folder or if many files are copied to the root folder by mistake.

See how to troubleshoot this problem:

1. start your computer with a míd-dayand installation of Windows XP, and on the screen "Install the Windows" press R to use the recovery console
2. copy the Ntldr and Ntdetect.com files from the I386 folder on the Windows XP CD-ROM to the root of the partition. (Exe: C:\ partition that initializes the Operating System)
Copy (X): \i386\NTLDR C:\
Copy (X): \i386\ NTDETECT.COM C:\
Where X represents the CD/DVD drive of your computer.
3. If you give some error, you will need to remove the attributes of these two system files, then do the following:
attrib ntdetect.com-r-s-h
